Met a great team of leaders from Sanmitra FPC recently. They are into procurement, marketing and primary processing. They have done onion processing to the tune of 300MT and 25 MT of Tomatoes which involves dehydration in an interesting partnership with a startup. They work on a hub and spoke model which gives fixed and predictable incomes to hundreds of women involved in the dehydration work with them.
I am personally bullish about on farm or near farm dehydration of farm produce to increase farm incomes as well as to alleviate distress during the peak season when prices of multiple commodities crash due to sheer volume of fresh arrivals.
